IEEE-442

Neher-McGrath Calculations and IEEE-442

The measurement of thermal resistivity (RHO C-cm/W) of soil and backfill materials to include concrete, engineered backfills, grout, rock, sand, and any other material used to encase the cable system installed in the ground.

IEEE-442 Chart

The measurement of thermal resistivity (RHO C-cm/W) of soil and backfill materials to include concrete, engineered backfills, grout, rock, sand, and any other material used to encase the cable system installed in the ground.

Conduction Example

The process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through a substance when there is a difference of temperature or of electrical potential between adjoining regions, without movement of the material.

Convection Example

The movement caused within a gas by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in transfer of heat.

Putting it all together

Lane Coburn and Associates uses there extensive experience with the Neher-McGrath calculation, IEEE-442 testing and Electrical Engineering to provide you results and value you can count on.
